About:

Edan Mcgovern is a trained Singer, Dancer, Actor and Guitarist who is currently studying Music Theatre at the Australian Institute of Music. Edan has been in a variety of Musicals and Plays (Macbeth, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Crazy For You, Spamalot, Seussical, Back to the 80’s, etc.) and also have experience creating original works and Assistant directing productions. Edan has been teaching Dance, Voice and Guitar lessons for four years to both adults and children. In the last year, she has also tutored students for HSC Music and Drama in both the theory and performance elements of these subjects.

Anecdotes:

What are your earliest memories of study Dance? 
“My earliest memories of studying dance include baby Ballet classes at age 5. At the end of year concert I ran on stage and began to dance on my own, and was promptly carried off the stage by one of my teachers.”

What has been a stand out in your life?
“A stand out in my life was studying for three months in Canada. I was able to experience schooling in a completely different country in a small town with an amazing community of people. on this trip I also received my qualifications to be a Snowboard instructor.”

What’s the weirdest thing you do to calm your nerves before an exam?
“Before exams I like to calm my nerves by getting the excess energy out of my body. to do this i have often jumped around or even done push ups to use up all the adrenaline i get when I’m nervous.”
